             This article is not  recent, however I still find it very interesting. The U.S. military has been operating on social media sites for some time now. The presence of propaganda on the Internet enables terrorist groups, primarily jihadists to spread their influence. The new technology that they are working on will allow a single "operator" to control multiple fake online persona's at any given time.The article goes on to explain how we used similar technology in Iraq to combat the presence of anti-American propaganda on the social media. The article does not address how we use it in the Middle East today. I am confident that the U.S. military capitalized on the fact that protesters where using social media to communicate during the Arab Spring, and attempted to manipulate it to it's advantage to an extent. The article explains how it would be unlawful to do this against the American public, yet it does not address the fact the State and Local police, FBI, NSA, ATF, DEA, and The Department of Homeland Security are not held back by these laws. Only the military is bared from conducting operations on the U.S. populace.In fact the NYPD has publicly stated that they use social media sites to fight crime. Gang and Anti terror units in particular.
